"FM was very diligent in assessing my wrist pain, ensuring that the exercises he prescribes gently increase my mobility without straining my tendon. He carefully adjusted my recovery plan accordingly if my progress was stagnant. He has expert dry needling skills and I left every appointment with immense relief."

A physio who trains like you do

At FM Physiotherapy, we believe your function matters, because moving well isn't just about pain relief. It's about living the life you love.

Fan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from Curtin University and has spent his career in private practice, with a passion for treating the underlying dysfunction rather than just managing symptoms.

He has extensive experience managing sporting injuries, having worked as a sports trainer for football clubs and provided physiotherapy support for NDIS ice-hockey programs. As a competitive weightlifter and badminton player himself, Fan knows the athlete mindset and the frustration that comes with injury setbacks.

That personal experience, combined with professional expertise, means your rehabilitation program won't just get you back to your sport. It will help you return stronger and more resilient than before.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?
No GP referral is required for private clients. However, if you're using Medicare (EPC), WorkCover, DVA or NDIS funding, a referral may be required.
Can I use my private health insurance?
Yes — we offer on-the-spot claiming via HICAPS for most major private health funds.
Does Medicare cover physiotherapy?
Yes, if your GP refers you under an EPC (Chronic Disease Management Plan). This entitles you to up to 5 subsidised sessions per calendar year.
Do you see WorkCover or motor vehicle injury cases?
Absolutely. We work with WorkCover WA and ICWA clients — just provide a valid referral and claim number.
How long is each session?
Initial consultations typically last 30–45 minutes. Standard follow-up sessions range from 30–45 minutes depending on your condition and treatment plan.
How much does physiotherapy cost?
Our prices vary based on the type of appointment. Please contact us directly for our current fee schedule.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the area being treated — for example, shorts for knee issues or a singlet for shoulder assessments.
Is physiotherapy painful?
Some treatments or exercises may feel uncomfortable, especially during injury rehab. Our goal is always to reduce your pain and improve your movement safely and progressively.
What types of conditions do you treat?
We commonly treat:
  • Back and neck pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Tendon injuries
  • Post-surgical rehab (including ACL)
  • Chronic pain
  • NDIS functional goals
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your condition and goals. After your first assessment, we'll outline a personalised plan and adjust it as you progress.
